Story about Kopi Malabar:

Geographically the area of Mount Malabar in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, is at an altitude of 1400 - 1800 m above sea level, air temperature is 15-21 C, rainfall of 2000 mm / year is very suitable for the productivity of Arabica Coffee. Mount Malabar is included in the region that has obtained Java Preanger Coffee Geographical Indication Certification.
In 1998 there was a monetary crisis in Indonesia. One of the impacts is the looting of community conservation forests, converted into horticultural agriculture. This causes the function of conservation forest to be lost and the potential danger of floods and landslides to increase. It is not easy to restore the function of conservation forests, because people are faced with a difficult economy. Rahayu farmer group coordinates the community to grow coffee plants, because coffee is a perennial plant and requires protective plants so that the function of protected forests can gradually return. This has received support from the government, but among farmers it is still difficult to implement because it does not yet know the potential of the coffee business. A few years later after seeing the results of coffee plantations, the surrounding community was interested in growing coffee plants.
Now Rahayu's farmer group has grown rapidly and is known as a producer of quality coffee. In its journey the Rahayu farmer group received several national and international awards for the category of coffee cultivation and processing. Even today Poktan Rahayu is one of the largest providers of certified coffee seeds in Indonesia, whose seeds are planted in several regions in Indonesia.

Why high quality coffee:

Malabar coffee is very special because from the cultivation process to post-harvest processing it has implemented the coffee industry operational standards and procedures (SOP), using professional experts in their fields, and supported by international standard processing equipment. Malabar coffee has 5 types of coffee processing, namely Luwak Coffee, Wet Process, Dry Process, Natural Process, and Honey Process..
